Our family of 9 had a wonderful stay/experience at The Lazy Lizard. Justin was fabulous with communication and recommendations. The location of the home was perfect. A 5 minute drive to restaurants, Moe’s Market, shopping and the ferry to St. John Island. Our family loved the layout of the home as well. The living space is separate from the bedrooms so if people wanted to stay up late the noise didn’t bother those who went to bed. The AC was very nice and cold. The grill was nice too and we used it one of our nights for dinner on the deck. The house felt secluded and very private; quiet. The views are phenomenal. I will suggest to anyone debating between this place and maybe another a little cheaper.. spend the lil bit extra $ and stay here. You won’t regret it. Plus having the pool was the cherry on top.
First off, Justin was the quintessential host. From beginning to end, the model of genuine hospitality. For example, after the first night we requested several blankets; he delivered brand new packaged cozy blankets! When we had questions, he responded promptly. Location was very private and views so beautiful, we felt like we were the only house on the road and top of hill. Unique property layout; (wrap around patio separating kitchen, dining and living room from bedrooms) very conducive to privacy as well as large areas and comfortable seating to gather for fun as a group inside and out. Modern and very functional kitchen/living room. Enjoyed cooking for our group and had all utensils/cookware necessary. Great pool w/adjacent sitting area. Better than pictured private apt. Gorgeous foliage throughout. Very close to ferry and fun shopping, eats. Two car easy parking. A couple maintenance and upper room dresser issues but nothing that took away from a five star experience!
The house was fine. The endless amount of automated messages trying to get me to sign additional contracts and waivers, click on links, hire them for other things, pay to check in early, pay to leave late…. That was the real issue. It felt like I was getting hassled but an automated salesman from the day I booked… Honestly I wasn’t going to write anything until I got ANOTHER automated message asking me to leave a review, but not if it’s anything other than 5 stars… then I should tell them privately. This, all after ignoring the only messages I sent. If you want a robot sending you an endless amount of automated messages asking you to use a dozen other services and ignoring your actual messages, this is for you.
